Howdy, I’m Teresa

inspired by fantasy

After working in civil engineering for 28 years, I found myself being drawn to a more creative and artistic path. It started with jewelry making in 2014, and in 2018 I picked up acrylic paint. Once my painting coach pushed my to try oil painting, I found my true passion! I plan to keep on this path as long as possible.

Outside of art, I enjoy going dancing and hitting the thrift stores with my husband of 30 years. I’m also an actor in our local theatre group, Little Playhouse on the Prairie and a stand up and improv comedian in our local improv troupe The Prairie Dogs.

AFTER HAVING tragedy strike twice, I’VE learned…..

Nothing in this life is guaranteed. Normal life can be toppled in an instant. All I can do is keep on going. Every day I wake up and do something. Not every day is pretty. Some days are crap.  But I still get up and do something!

here’s A few of my favorite pieces

  • jack rabbit

    24x39 oil on linen. Jack is right out of the place where imagination and reality meet. I made the colors all warm. It took a while to paint lots of individual hair. But it’s the eye that really grabs you. 

  • Fluffy Bee butt

    10x20 oil on canvas. This one earned me an Honorable Mention at an art competition at our local museum, Red River Valley Museum, in Vernon, TX. Again this one is fantasy. I have no idea what type of flower these are and the bee is much too big. 

  • fire dancers

    20x24 oil on canvas. My favorite piece. I see it as sisters dancing around a ceremonial fire. Their hands are joined symbolically linked together. The group strong and powerful. Women joined. 

  • burgundy

    18x24 oil on canvas. An eye catching cleavage wearing a burgundy negligée. Based on a photo of a lovely friend.
